Care and motherhood are where my practice begins: places where love, labour, responsibility, and inequality become entangled, and where socially produced expectations can begin to feel natural, instinctive, or inevitable. I am interested in this ambiguity. How love can transmit restriction. How care can sustain both people and unequal structures. How inherited patterns can be recognised, and refused.
From a feminist perspective, I examine how gendered expectations are learned, embodied, repeated, and passed on through families, language, and everyday ritual. I work across installation, performance, and drawing, using sound, scent, textiles, text, and domestic materials to translate these questions into spatial and bodily conditions.
Through repetition, accumulation, compression, and duration, I create situations in which these structures are felt before they are understood. The work does not illustrate a problem. It reconstructs the feeling of living inside one.
